I was first introduced to manscaping several years ago. I came home after a late night at work and hopped into bed with my boyfriend. One thing led to another, and soon enough he was down to his boxer shorts.
And all of a sudden he was hairless.
After a year of dating a moderately hairy, blue-collar gent, it was quite a shock to come home to someone without any body-hair - chest, pubes, even legs and armpits.
I remember thinking, 'Shit, I feel hairy.'
That was the beginning of the end for us. I mean, it's hard when your boyfriend shaves his legs more often than you do.
But ever since then, more and more guys I date are into manscaping.
I like a guy with a little hair on his chest. I do appreciate when a dude trims his body hair, but men are supposed to have hair. A completely hairless guy is such a turn off. I mean, if I wanted to date a 12-year-old boy... (well, that would be pretty sick).
Writing this story gave me a smug sense of satisfaction that men go through the trials and tribulations of vanity through the pain of ingrown hairs and waxing. But at the end of the day, I want to find a man who accepts me for who I am. And who I am, sometimes, is a chick with a little 5 o'clock shadow on her legs (I'm blonde... I can get away with a lot)
